Heart of the Irish!

Yoga Nidra classes are held every Monday & Thursday at 7:30 to 8:30 pm. This week, we will journey through the chakra (energy centers) in both classes. It will be a different journey from last week's chakra class. No guarantees, but will find self-love by doing this class for yourself. I hope to see you there!
In honor of St. Patrick's day, I focus here on the love or heart chakra. The heart chakra is represented by the color green. Thus, my logic for discussing the love chakra here.

The love energy center of the body or anahata chakra is found in the heart. Its function is to love and have compassion for ourselves and for others. Other body parts that are influenced by the love chakra are the lungs, arms and hands. If the heart chakra is out of balance it may show itself as asthma, lung disease, heart disease or high blood pressure.
In eastern philosophy, there are many ways to balance this important energy center including certain yoga poses such as fish pose, cobra pose, torso twists and arm circles. Also use a breath practice (pranayama) such as simple breath awareness, alternate nostril breathing, or complete breath to bring your love chakra into balance. I teach these breathing practices, so please let me know if you would like to learn more.
Emerald, tourmaline, jade and rose quartz are the crystal minerals associated with the love chakra. Aromatherapy herbs for the love chakra are two of my favorites lavender, jasmine, and a few others.
To heal is to make whole. If the heart chakra is the integrator and unifier, then it follows that it is also the center of healing. Indeed, love is the ultimate healing force. --Anodea Judith, Wheels of LIfe (2017).

I have once again moved the yoga nidra workshop which was originally scheduled for this week to Thursday, March 25 from 5:30 to 7:00pm. If you want to dive deeper into Yoga Nidra or simply get an introduction to it, then do register. As with every one of my offerings, friends and family are welcome.
