New Year, Renewal
Laurie Tenzer | JAN 2, 2023
My hope for you is that 2023 will see growth and good things in a joy-filled life.

The freshness of the new year can be a time of renewal. Whether it is by doing a personal inventory, deep cleaning the home, cleansing the body or making space in some other way to bring yourself into the new year. As human beings, these are ways we like to start fresh. What they all have in common is getting rid of stuff.
We may think of the new year as starting with a clean slate. That clean slate is a wonderful place to begin. This idea espouses that we live in the present. In this very moment.
Yet as we continue our lives, we continue to bring in the baggage (both good and bad) from all the previous years. We have no way to remove experience from our lives. We need to embrace that experience and build within the present moment. All that matters is the present moment. Not the past, not the future. The present is the sum of our pasts and our futures.

I suggest thinking of this new year as an opportunity to renew and refresh. As Gertrude Stein makes clear "Every day is a renewal, every morning the daily miracle. This joy you feel is life."
How will you make change each day in the present moment? How will you renew yourself? We cannot see our future, but we can lay a strong foundation in the present moment using the concept of daily renewal.

What can you renew for yourself now that has a positive effect on the future? Change-making is part of renewal. Make change to those things that you want to change and care for yourself in the forthcoming year.
