It is Finally Spring! Yay!

This has been a difficult year for many. For myself, I can say that Spring 2021 feels extra special particularly when compared to the last vernal equinox. Some have gotten their COVID vaccines and are slowly returning to their pre-COVID rituals, while others may feel that current events are a little less threatening, while some may be feeling the simple goodness of the changing rhythms of the earth and the rebirth of new life in the springtime. The days are now getting longer, meaning we get more healing sunshine in our lives.
For myself, and it is my hope for you too, that we may feel the layers of weight of the past year begin to peel away as we get more sunlight in the northern hemisphere.
As with every week I continue to offer Yoga Nidra on Mondays & Thursdays at 7:30 pm. The theme this week is the second energy center, the sacral chakra. Located in the body in the lower abdomen, between the genitals and the belly button, the svadhistana chakra is the seat of procreation, new life, and why I selected this chakra for our spring week. When in balance, the sacral chakra is said to manifest your creativity, desires and self-confidence. The sacral chakra is represented by the color orange and associated with the sense of taste. It is dominated by the water element. Register here.
Just a reminder that the Yoga Nidra Workshop is coming up next Thursday, March 25 at 5:30. If you or your friends and family are interested in taking a deeper dive into a better understanding of Yoga Nidra, please register here.
This past weekend, I completed a teacher training about Yoga for Osteoporosis with Dr. Loren Fishman and his assistant Liz Larson. Dr. Fishman has researched and proven that bone can be strengthened through specific yoga poses that he prescribes. In the future, I plan to offer group classes that focus specifically on the Fishman method. For now, I offer Yoga for Osteoporosis as a private lesson. If you or someone you know has osteoporosis, please have them reach out to me.
