Yoga Nidra $10 During 10

I am excited to announce that all Yoga Nidra classes during the 10th month of the year, i.e., October, will cost $10. As we get deeper into Autumn and the sun moves into a lower angle in relationship to our northern hemisphere, I really want you to do something wonderful for yourself. Experience Yoga Nidra this Fall season! Experience the effects of the 5 koshas by joining me each week online for a new visualization and journey. Register here for tonight's class, and/or next week October 11, or any future Monday at 7:30 pm. Tonight our Yoga Nidra experience will be a new visualization on transitioning from Summer to Fall.

If you are unable to make it on Mondays at 7:30pm, please contact me via the form below. With enough participants (starting at 3), I would be happy to open up another day and time for you to experience this amazing, deeply meditative, and healing practice.

Wisdom (Vijnanamaya-Kosha)

This week we continue the discussion of the five layers of being and how they relate to Yoga Nidra. With the fourth level of being, wisdom (vijnanamaya kosha). We leave the realm of the thinking world (manamaya kosha) where our emotions process into thoughts and begin to move toward the knowing world where our conscious selves store the wisdom.

The direct translation of vijnanamaya kosha is intellect or cognition. (Yoga International, 2021). Kamini Desai (2017) describes it as the power of discernment or judgment. Words used to interpret this layer to English words are: understanding, knowing, witnessing, intuition, and even creativity (WisdomLib).

In Yoga Nidra we come to this layer during the visualization section. As we drop deeper into Yoga Nidra, we may begin to feel the mind open and ready to witness what has always been here. It is in this sheath, as we move toward our deepest relaxation in Yoga Nidra that we become receptive to recognizing those things that we would normally push aside in fear or judgement of ourselves. Here, there is no self-judgment positive or negative. It just is. The wisdom layer helps us in the cognitive state of our own wisdom. It helps us to recognize what has always been here within yourself. The real you has always been here (Reis, 2020, p. 62-63).

When you become the witness to your intellect and wisdom, it means that you have become aware of what you have inside your consciousness. A Yoga Nidra experience will take you deeper into this fourth layer of being.
