Yoga Nidra for Healing

Yoga Nidra is a profound relaxation meditation that goes beyond the physical body and mental being. It helps to move you to the subtle bodies of being (kosha) such as the energetic layer, emotional thinking layer, and the witness/wisdom layer, and on into bliss and beyond. When you are guided through these states during a yoga nidra practice, it puts you in a powerful position to bring healing into your life. As we rouse these subtle levels of the body throughout our being we come into such a relaxed state that that the parasympathetic nervous system may begin to kick in. It is here that you may find your own healing light. As human beings many of us have much to heal just from living. Whether it is pain in the physical body or the mental being, it is possible that yoga nidra will help you to address your diseases, dis-eases and discomforts in the body and the mind. One of my clients actually reported that after 4 yoga nidra sessions his paroxysmal a-fib disappeared! His "cardiologist was incredulous!"

Yoga Nidra has been scientifically shown to have healing benefits for emotional traumas such as stress, including post-traumatic stress, depression, worry, and mindfulness in various populations (Eastman-Mueller, Wilson, et al (2013); Miller (2015).
You do the healing yourself as your yoga nidra teacher guides you to internal places that you may have never been before. The symbiotic relationships between the guide and your subtle being may help you to heal whatever needs healing in your life (Reis, 2020). Give yoga nidra a try.
